TEDxToledo is about the transition from industry to technology and what that process entails. Being in the Midwest, in the belly of the manufacturing sector, technological advances and repercussions have not always been easy to embrace, we look for ways to inspire and ignite creative technological and scientific progresses.

Way Public Library is pleased to announce our inaugural TEDx event! We believe that a library is an excellent forum for sharing ideas and gaining inspiration.

Our mission in hosting a TEDx event is to get our community motivated. The theme for the event is “A Community of Ideas” and we want to tap our community – local and national – for speakers and attendees who have ideas and inspiration!

The event will take place at the Way Public Library in Perrysburg, Ohio on April 12, 2014. Tickets go on sale March 1st and will be $35.

The core of any TEDx event is connection – at our event you’ll have the unique opportunity to interact with attendees and speakers. There will be the chance to hear five dynamic talks by people passionate about what they do. In short, our hope is that TEDxWayPublicLibrary will inspire you – to create, innovate, and collaborate.

You’ll also receive a TEDxWayPublicLibrary t-shirt and other goodies in our swag bag. During breaks there will be the chance to munch on complimentary savory and sweet treats specially prepared by a local chef and sip delicious coffee provided by a Perrysburg roaster. We are also working on a few surprises to keep you curious during the breaks (think demos and photos)!

A great TEDxToledo experience begins with amazing people. People in the audience, people onstage, people talking and sharing. Now in our third year, TEDxToledo will explore the many dynamics of the human experience through the eyes of Technology, Entertainment, and Design.

The theme for the event is “(inter)action” and we want to tap our community for speakers who have ideas that inspire action and dialogue!

The event will take place at the Way Public Library in Perrysburg, Ohio on March 12, 2014 from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Tickets go on sale February 1st and will be $25.

First TEDx event at The University of Toledo.

Theme: Caveman to Cosmonaut.

The second annual TEDx Maumee Valley Country Day School will take place on Friday, April 21, 2017, at Maumee Valley Country Day School from 9 am - 2 pm. The independently organized event, licensed by TED, will feature local, student voices and TED Talks videos. Tickets are $4 and can be reserved on the event’s website. Availability is limited; tickets sold out a week in advance of last year’s event. TEDx Maumee Valley Country Day School is a local event organized by Maumee Valley students in which high schoolers share their ideas and passions with a receptive audience. The event features a variety of high school student speakers who promote thought-provoking discussion on wide-ranging topics relevant to our generation. Launched in 2009, TEDx is a program of locally organized events that bring the community together to share a TED-like experience. Some of the best talks from TEDx events have gone on to be featured on TED.com and garnered millions of views from audiences across the globe.

TEDxBowlingGreen will feature innovative speakers, entertainers, local entrepreneurs, and community members from the area and (hopefully!) the globe. A TEDx general features a powerful, unique idea that has the power to spark the dialogue that changes the world.
