Solving the Automation Productivity Puzzle Using FDT Technology, ISA 103 & IEC 62453.

Everyone is interested in doing more with less, increasing productivity, get or remain competitive, and maximizing installed assets. With the vast majority of the installed field instrument asset being “smart”, why are we not using these smart assets to help us improve operations, lower costs, improve productivity and move to a predictive rather than a preventative maintenance strategy? One reason is that plants today have multiple field protocols, connecting smart instruments made by multiple suppliers, connecting to multiple and aging control systems, expecting everything to work together as promised.
