Data Science & Machine Learning (Code City)
Code City: Unleashing the entrepreneur in everyone. Start Ups. Bootcamps. Talks. Tools. Coaches and Events to help you design the future.
Ever wonder how Netflix can predict what movies you'll like? Or how Amazon knows what you need to buy even before you do? And what is really going on behind self-driving cars, speech recognition like SIri and Alexa, and our understanding of the human genome? That all incorporates Machine Learning and Data Science. We often use it every day without realizing it, and it seems like magic.
Victor A. Ogundipe Jr. is a data scientist at the University of Michigan. His academic background is in both sociology (BA and MA) and computer science (BS). He has a passion for programming, politics, social issues and using technology to enhance civic engagement.
He's coming out to Code City to give us an overiview of these incredible technologies.
Code City meets every Monday night at 6pm at Rustbelt Coffee in downtown Toledo.
Events are on the 2nd floor. Walk into the coffeeshop and find the stairwell just past the restrooms on the right. Go up to the wide open space of the second floor.
