The popular panel discussion hosted by the Northwest Ohio ISACA chapter will return on Thursday, April 26th at the United Way building in downtown Toledo.

Our speaker is Keith Fournier who is a Senior Management Consultant in CIO Advisory Services for Major Oak Consulting, LLC in New Providence, New Jersey. Keith has managed the acquisitions and directed the implementations for tens of millions of dollars of enterprise applications and technology infrastructure during his 20-year career.

His topic will be Data Masking: Concepts and Implementation Best Practices. Keith will provide an overview of masking concepts, implementation strategies, operational best-practices, a governance model, and lessons learned.

Crystal Allen, RN is a clinical specialist that has spent the majority of her career with McKesson Provider Technologies. She will speak to control and governance of Health Information Exchanges (HIE), which is the mobilization of healthcare information electronically across organizations within a region, community or hospital system. Crystal will discuss various public and private HIE models that she has encountered in her 30-year career in healthcare.

3rd Annual Tech Toledo GeekDinner HolidayMixer

Tech Toledo invites all information technology professionals to join us on December 12th for the 3rd Annual GeekDinner HolidayMixer. This will be the year’s largest social gathering of the IT community in the Toledo Region. Last year we had over 50 people and expect more this time.

The festivities start at 5:30pm on Thursday, December 12th, 2013. We are meeting at Packo’s at the Park, 7 South Superior Street, in downtown Toledo, in the Outfield room.

No RSVP is required (but you can use the Facebook event if you want to let us know you are coming). Just show up thirsty, with an appetite for Packo’s, money to pay for your own food and drink, and a willingness to connect with colleagues.

Many members of regional IT groups will be in attendance, holding their annual end-of-year Geek Dinners with us. The groups include Toledo Web Professionals, The Nerd Summit, NWOACM, NWOFMPUG, Toledo iOS Developers, and NWNUG. You will be able to meet the leaders and members of the groups at the event.

You are NOT required to be a member of any of these groups to attend. We welcome anyone who wants to hang out with us, such as entrepreneurs, designers, business leaders, engineers, government officials, marketing professionals.

Northwest Ohio ISACA Chapter Member Appreciation Event

We are excited to present the 2nd Annual Northwest Ohio ISACA Member Appreciation Event at the Toledo Walleye's hockey game on Saturday, January 10th. The cost is $10 per person and is open to all chapter members and their immediate family or significant other.

The doors to our reserved area in the "Goal Zone" at the Huntington center will open at 5:30PM and food will be served from 6:00PM - 7:30PM. The puck drops at 7:15PM vs. the Indy Fuel. All guests will have the option to take your ice level seat at the start of the game or wait in our reserved area to greet and even "high five" the players as they exit the locker room and take the ice!

Kenneth Townsend is a Manager in PwC's Security Advisory practice with over 17 years of experience in the design and delivery of IT technologies with an emphasis on network security. Kenneth is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and has designed and implemented network security standards, road maps and governance programs to improve the overall security posture. His experience ranges from LAN/WAN administration to architecture and implementation of security strategies in the manufacturing, payments, health care, retail and marketing sectors.

The Northwest Ohio ISACA Chapter will be hosting a full-day CyberSecurity Nexus Fundamentals (CSX) review program. As the entry point into the cybersecurity program, CSX offers a certificate in the introductory concepts that frame and define the standards, guidelines and practices of the industry.
