ISACA Northwest Ohio November Chapter Meeting.

Our speaker is Keith Fournier who is a Senior Management Consultant in CIO Advisory Services for Major Oak Consulting, LLC in New Providence, New Jersey. Keith has managed the acquisitions and directed the implementations for tens of millions of dollars of enterprise applications and technology infrastructure during his 20-year career.

His topic will be Data Masking: Concepts and Implementation Best Practices. Keith will provide an overview of masking concepts, implementation strategies, operational best-practices, a governance model, and lessons learned.

The ISACA Northwest Ohio Chapter and The University of Toledo welcomes you to an important event discussing the control and governance of Health Information Exchanges.

Crystal Allen, RN is a clinical specialist that has spent the majority of her career with McKesson Provider Technologies. She will speak to control and governance of Health Information Exchanges (HIE), which is the mobilization of healthcare information electronically across organizations within a region, community or hospital system. Crystal will discuss various public and private HIE models that she has encountered in her 30-year career in healthcare.

The event is free and open to all professionals and students interested in learning more about information governance issues and networking with other professionals in Northwest Ohio.

Tech Toledo invites all information technology professionals to join us on December 12th for the 3rd Annual GeekDinner HolidayMixer. This will be the year’s largest social gathering of the IT community in the Toledo Region. Last year we had over 50 people and expect more this time.

The festivities start at 5:30pm on Thursday, December 12th, 2013. We are meeting at Packo’s at the Park, 7 South Superior Street, in downtown Toledo, in the Outfield room.

No RSVP is required (but you can use the Facebook event if you want to let us know you are coming). Just show up thirsty, with an appetite for Packo’s, money to pay for your own food and drink, and a willingness to connect with colleagues.

Many members of regional IT groups will be in attendance, holding their annual end-of-year Geek Dinners with us. The groups include Toledo Web Professionals, The Nerd Summit, NWOACM, NWOFMPUG, Toledo iOS Developers, and NWNUG. You will be able to meet the leaders and members of the groups at the event.

You are NOT required to be a member of any of these groups to attend. We welcome anyone who wants to hang out with us, such as entrepreneurs, designers, business leaders, engineers, government officials, marketing professionals.

Save the Date - The IIA's Northwest Ohio next chapter meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 26th from 5 pm until 8 pm. The meeting will be held on the enclosed patio at the 5th Street Pub at 105 W. 5th St., Perrysburg, OH 43551. The meeting is sponsored by PwC.

The topic being presented will be Leveraging Data Analytics to Enhance IA Effectiveness. As the availability and the quality of data within a business improves, the need for maximizing the power of that data grows with it. Please join Shane Kenney, a leader in PwC's analytics practice, as he takes us through the journey of implementing an effective analytics program within internal audit. He will provide insights in the current market trends within IA analytics as well as demo the latest visualization tools

The speaker for the March ISACA chapter meeting is Shane Kenny, a Manager at PwC specializing in Data Assurance.

Shane is presenting on "Leveraging Data Analytics", which covers topics such as audit analytics, value proposition, anti-fraud controls and data visualization.

The topic for the May ISACA chapter meeting will be 3rd-Party Security presented by Doug Davidson. Doug is the president and chief executive officer at Jacadis which is a Columbus area security consulting firm.

The September NWOhio ISACA Chapter Meeting is going to be at Buffalo Wild Wings in Bowling Green, Ohio on Wednesday, September 24th.

We begin with informal networking at 5:30pm followed by food at 6:00pm

We are excited to present the 2nd Annual Northwest Ohio ISACA Member Appreciation Event at the Toledo Walleye's hockey game on Saturday, January 10th. The cost is $10 per person and is open to all chapter members and their immediate family or significant other.

The doors to our reserved area in the "Goal Zone" at the Huntington center will open at 5:30PM and food will be served from 6:00PM - 7:30PM. The puck drops at 7:15PM vs. the Indy Fuel. All guests will have the option to take your ice level seat at the start of the game or wait in our reserved area to greet and even "high five" the players as they exit the locker room and take the ice!

The Northwest Ohio ISACA Chapter will be holding their March meeting on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at Poco Piatti's in Levis Commons. Cost for ISACA Members is $20 and Non-members is $30.

The Northwest Ohio ISACA Chapter will be holding their May meeting up May 20th. We will hear a presentation on the concepts of Data Protection presented by Kenneth Townsend.

The protection of the enterprise's data is one of the highest priorities of an IT Security Strategy. This is a very important topic and will be the feature of this month's presentation.

Kenneth Townsend is a Manager in PwC's Security Advisory practice with over 17 years of experience in the design and delivery of IT technologies with an emphasis on network security. Kenneth is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and has designed and implemented network security standards, road maps and governance programs to improve the overall security posture. His experience ranges from LAN/WAN administration to architecture and implementation of security strategies in the manufacturing, payments, health care, retail and marketing sectors.

The next ISACA chapter meeting will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 5:30 at Buffalo Wild Wings in Bowling Green, Ohio.

During the Annual General Meeting members will be voting on officers and a by-law change and Dave Cutri will be presenting "Creating and Implementing an Effective Institutional Compliance Program".

During the meeting, Matt will guide us through a live demonstration of how an information system can be penetrated and the subsequent process for detecting and preventing such threats. The Northwest Ohio ISACA chapter wants to invite you to attend our May 25th meeting.

We are fortunate to have Doris Patrick, CIPP, CIPT, CIPM, Director of Cybersecurity, Privacy and IT Risk at PwC who will be speaking on the evolution of privacy with a focus on the recent events in the EU.

The meeting will be held at Buffalo Wild Wings in Bowling Green, Ohio. Networking and dinner will begin at 5:30pm with the presentation beginning at 6:00pm.

The Northwest Ohio ISACA Chapter will be hosting a full-day CyberSecurity Nexus Fundamentals (CSX) review program. As the entry point into the cybersecurity program, CSX offers a certificate in the introductory concepts that frame and define the standards, guidelines and practices of the industry.

• Instructor: Mr. Robert Ramsay, CPA, CISA, CITP. Robert works for the Barnes Dennig services firm and has been certified by ISACA to teach CSX courses. Robert is also President of the Greater Cincinnati ISACA Chapter.

The course/program is designed to cover all of the topic areas necessary to prepare you for taking and passing the CSX certificate exam.

Members and non-members alike are welcome to participate in this training program.

During the March 2017 NW Ohio ISACA chapter meeting, Robert Ramsay, CPA, CISA, CITP, the President of the Greater Cincinnati ISACA Chapter and Director in the Barnes Dennig business services firm, will be discussing the topic of "Future Crimes" and will take us inside the digital underground and the battle for our interconnected world.

Networking for the chapter meeting will begin at 5:30pm with dinner and the speaker to follow. The meeting will be located at Buffalo Wild Wings in Bowling Green, Ohio.

The May 2017 chapter meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 24th at Buffalo Wild Wings in Bowling Green. Networking begins at 5:30pm with dinner and the speaker to follow.

During the May chapter meeting, Matthew Haschak, Director of IT Security and Infrastructure at Bowling Green State University, will be discussing BGSU's implementation of two factor authentication.

During the Sept. chapter meeting, William McCreary, VP/CIO/CTO at the University of Toledo, will be presenting on senior leadership and board of directors considerations for technology and cybersecurity.

November ISACA Chapter Meeting: The Chapter meeting will be held on Thursday, November 16th at Buffalo Wild Wings in Bowling Green. Please note that the day of the week, and the time of month, for this meeting is different from previous Chapter meetings. This is due to the Thanksgiving holiday and the upcoming UT-BGSU football game. We will resume our Wednesday Chapter meetings after November.

The speaker will be Mr. Apolonio "Apps" Garcia, who is President and founder of Health-Guard, where he has been helping healthcare clients solve their cyber security and risk management challenges for over 15 years. The topic of Apps’ presentation will be “Risk Communication: Improving Decision Making”.
