Join us for a Geek Dinner (each person pays their own way) with special guest Jim Youll, Site Reliability Engineer at Twitter. Jim, a BGSU graduate, is back in the region for the day and has graciously offered to spend some time with us. He was hungry for Packo's, so we set up this geek dinner. All are welcome to join us.

Come to Packo's at the Park for dinner with Jim. Ask him questions about his days at BGSU, his research at MIT, his experiences at various startups in Silicon Valley, and what it is like at Twitter. We are not sure where we will be sitting at Packo's, so look for Jim in his Twitter shirt. Or just find the normal geek crowd.

At 7pm, we will migrate over to OpenHack at Seed.

Jim Youll of Twitter returns to the area. This time he is presenting to the BGSU Student ACM Chapter.

Jim, a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, will be discussing his work and experience gained from the Twitter Headquarters in San Francisco. Youll is a 1988 BGSU graduate (CS major, Photojournalism minor) who joined the Twitter team a year ago.

Myles pizza and soda will be provided.

Jim Youll, an alumni of BG Computer Science working at Twitter in Silicon Valley is in town and wants to talk with current undergrad and graduate students Thursday Oct 2nd!

From 2pm - 4pm Jim will be hanging out in the conference room upstairs in Hayes hall.

As a CS Advisory board member and graduate of the program, Jim would like to hear about the current program from current students' POV. He's also interested to hear students people's post-graduation plans and how their experience at BGSU has influenced that thinking.

Jim is also happy to answer questions about his experience in tech and starting companies, internships, MIT, Silicon Valley, or Twitter.

Jim Youll is a BGSU CS grad and Staff Engineer with the Site Reliability team at Twitter, based in San Francisco.

He be in town for a CS Advisory Board meeting on Friday, and has set aside some time to chat with students the day before.

We can cover thoughts about the CS program, careers/ambitions, tech jobs and Silicon Valley from anyone's POV, startups, or any other relevant topics.

This will be an open conversation around a big table - come and go as your schedule allows.

For those who don't already know Jim Youll, he is a BGSU CS grad (1988) who's on the Advisory Board to the BGSU CS department. He currently works as a Staff Reliability Engineer at Twitter in San Francisco, and once owned a tech services company and other tech-related companies in NW Ohio (smallish, no $billion exit). He'll be back in BG for the advisory board meeting Friday, Oct. 2.

In the past he has had open office hours for students to chat about anything from the CS program to Silicon Valley to your ambitions as CS majors (and minors, and grad students) and will do that again this coming Thursday, Oct.1.
