We are creating ToledoWiki so that everyone can feel like a city insider via this digital liaison between the people, institutions and ideas of Toledo. By launching this dynamic digital space to freely share all local knowledge about Toledo, our hope is that ToledoWiki will show Toledoans and visitors the depth and breadth of community resources, people, institutions, and cultural attractions that would take a long time to locate and learn about on one's own.

ToledoWiki gives us the opportunity to capture community knowledge that is not presently available in any local or commercial website. LocalWiki's usable interface will not only help connect people with local services and programs but also allow those people to provide feedback about those services - information useful both to others in need and the service providers themselves. ToledoWiki will provide a space for Toledo hacktivists and others concerned with open data to meet and collaborate. It is our hope that ToledoWiki will be a repository of data offering insight, answers, and discussion to recurring questions, debates and the direction of Toledo's future.

The ToledoWiki is comprised of cheerful and open volunteers interested in making this town a better place to live and grow. This group intends to document and track everything in Toledo. Does this sound like a challenge for you? We need your help. Please follow the links below to sign up and follow.

Edit Parties are intended to train and develop resources who are asked to contribute to the wiki. We need volunteers interested in adding content as well as verifying and editing for overall quality and improvement. The organization is just getting started and we are looking for volunteers to join us. Help us build a better Toledo! Please bring your laptops and or tablets and join us. You do not need to know HTML, but it will not hurt. :)

Special guest Arjun Sabharwal will talk about Toledo's Attic. We will discuss how ToledoWiki can support historical content projects in the region. We will edit some wiki history pages.

Looking for new ways to share your TOLEDOLOVE? Bring your computer and join us for a ToledoWiki edit party in west Toledo at Sanger Library on Saturday, January 18 at 1 pm. We'll give a brief intro to the ToledoWiki project, answer questions, share ideas and edit pages on the site. Bring a friend with you - the more the merrier!
