Conceptualizing Accessibility
Seed Coworking

WordPress provides you with a decent head start when it comes to creating accessible websites. There are still plenty of items to check off your list to ensure that everyone has access to your site’s navigation and content. How can we be sure we understand the value of Accessibility when it comes to our projects?

Join us in welcoming Jessica Setter who is passionate about Design and Accessibility for our mobile worlds. She specializes in solutions bridging problems with art.

This talk is based on her current work in Accessibility Design. She will use visual examples then discussing the importance of conceptualizing accessibility early on when planning platforms. In between examples holding moments to ask people what differences there may be and how those differences affect the results of using a platform.

Jessica is a Graphic Designer from Southeast Michigan. After obtaining a BFA from Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI, she works in Graphic Design at Owens Corning, and as a UI/UX Design Freelancer.

Launched in March 2013, Docker succeeded to win favor with its technology and awesome branding. Docker is an open platform for building, shipping and running distributed applications. It gives programmers, development teams and operations engineers the common toolbox they need to take advantage of the distributed and networked nature of modern applications.

Steve Newsted, our guest speaker, will give a comprehensive talk about Docker and Containers. We can't wait for this one!

Steve is a lifelong advocate for the proliferation of technology into our personal and professional lives. His life in and out of work has lead him through many areas of our high-tech world; including system administration, web design/development, carrier/transport networking, datacenter engineering, application development, and virtualization/cloud/managed enterprise and customer-facing services. Steve currently works for Oracle, building back-end infrastructure for cloud services, and is passionate about finding new and exciting ways to deliver services of all kinds.

Service Spring Corporation

This month in honor of Earth Day we welcome Jeff Green of AccuShred to add us regarding recycling of all materials. In addition to his talk we will be able to turn over any electronics for him to take away.

Even I will share an experience, that made a huge difference in WordPress work. As we like to do in all our events, experienced WordPressers will answer your questions. Want more? Sign up and look forward to an exciting year with WP Toledo Meetup!

Finally, we'll go on a tour of the Lab. I think you will love it.
