StartUp Toledo - The Ramsey Brothers
Manhattan's Restaurant

In the midst of the Roaring Twenties the desire for fun, frivolity, speed, and sport set the stage for a boom in production of the then-new mahogany runabout. Capitalizing on this growing market, the Indian Lake Boat Company in Lima, Ohio developed a line of fast runabouts with the evocative name of Dart. The Dart line of boats attracted the attention of investors in Toledo, Ohio, and in 1928 a new company was formed, the Dart Boat Company of Toledo Ohio.

Today’s models are built to the same exacting standards and exquisite detail of the original boats, but incorporate modern power and improved hull construction for ease of use and simplicity of maintenance.

Join us this month as we welcome Scott and Dave Ramsey of Ramsey Brothers Restorations — and owners of the iconic Dart Boat Company brand — as they tell us more about Dart history, building a craft-based business in Toledo, and dabbling in Toledo politics.

Pitch & Pour
Nitschke Technology Commercialization Complex (U. Toledo)

Northwest Ohio’s largest entrepreneurial business pitch competition, “Pitch & Pour” is happy to announce our 6th annual competition will be held on Thursday Nov 16th.

Pitch & Pour is a competition where startup companies compete for over $10,000 in cash and business services, and will have the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to the Toledo's entrepreneurial community.

We’re looking for high tech/high growth, technology enabled, and web-based enterprises that demonstrate innovation and business concepts with the potential to develop into successful companies.

Last year’s attendees included many of the region's entrepreneurs, investors, mentors, angel investors, and area businesses who listened to six budding companies give their best 5 minute pitch to the audience and a team of seasoned judges, made up of regional entrepreneurs and business leaders.

If you're a start-up company, this is an opportunity to move the needle. If you're an investor, this could be where you find your next venture. If you're neither, just come on down and enjoy the festivities!
