The series begins with special guest Bill Sattler, President of Madhouse, a cross-media graphic design firm that specializes in motion graphics and print work, plus website design and development.

Bill will talk about the balance between sticking up for your ideas and satisfying your client's needs. "Tricky subject matter," he admits, "but an ongoing topic for creative types."

Shop Talk: Stan Massey

The Collective’s Shop Talk series gives you first-hand insight and advice from the area’s best creative and business professionals.

That description certainly applies to Stan Massey.

Stan is a partner and the Chief Branding Officer for R/P Marketing Public Relations, a local company that’s frequently ranked among the top 1 percent of the nation’s ad agencies and PR firms.

For more than 30 years, Stan has been a copywriter, producer, brand manager and “idea guy” who works to help his clients stand out.

His work has been recognized with dozens of awards, including more than 50 ADDY Awards, the ANDY Award from the New York Art Directors’ Club, and the OBIE Award for outstanding outdoor advertising.

In 2002, Stan received the Silver Medal Award from the American Advertising Federation for his many contributions to the advertising industry and his community.

He even worked on a TV commercial for Owens Corning that aired during the Super Bowl.

Stan Massey will join us for Shop Talk on Thursday, August 28th at noon. His presentation is titled “Simply Irresistible: The hard task of creating simple, compelling ads.”

Angie Ash began working for Fruchtman Marketing as a design intern for just $10 per hour. That was in 1993. Today, she's the agency's Executive Vice President!

Along the way, Angie served as an Art Director and a Senior Account Executive. Her work included new campaign development and execution, writing and producing TV spots, casting talent, and managing the everyday needs of clients.

Now, as Executive VP, Angie oversees the business of several clients, as well as new business initiatives and internal projects and processes.

During her Shop Talk presentation on Thursday, July 23rd, Angie will address the emotion of marketing: why and how you should try to impact your audience in a meaningful way.

Stacy Baca will be our guest at Shop Talk, Thursday, August 27 at noon. Her topic: "Irresistible Content: Compel Your Audience to Action."

Stacy is a freelance consumer medical writer who combines her first-hand experience in occupational therapy with a passion for creating "content that connects."

She also brings a diverse background in marketing, management and education to her work for clients.

"My mission is to blend these components into concise, consumer health communications that convey an organization's message," writes Stacy. The result is "brisk copy that engages the audience and establishes the client as a leader in the health industry."
