Together, we volunter to help new (and sometimes even experienced) users get set up with Linux and other open-source software distributions. If you prefer a distribution (or even if you're not sure which one to pick), a volunteer will help you get the distribution installed and configured on your own machine, whether it be a desktop, laptop, or even an embedded platform, such as the Raspberry Pi. We are also looking for volunteers to help out. If you're proficient in a particular distribution, please send an email to scook@talug.org with your full name, email, and which distribution you'd like to volunteer to provide help with. Lists of distros and volunteers will be posted on our website and handed out at the event. PGP Key-signing PartyWe will also be having a PGP key-signing party at the installfest. If you currently use a PGP key and would like to get it digitally signed by others at the meeting, please email scook@talug.org with your full name (as it appears on your key), any e-mail addresses associated with your key, your key fingerprint, and the full URL where your public key may be retrieved. Lists of keys will be handed out at the meeting for anyone participating. Other NotesPizza and drinks will also be provided by TALUG for the event, and we will also be raffling off a few prizes: one (1) 256mb Raspberry Pi model B with case, and four (4) OpenPGP v2 smartcards. If you have something you'd like to donate to the group to be raffled off, please let us know. Let's make this a big event! See you there! |
