Beyond the Basics of HTML & CSS (Day 1)
Nitschke Technology Commercialization Complex (U. Toledo)

Session #1: Monday, September 22nd @ 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Session #2: Wednesday, September 24th @ 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Ready to expand your knowledge of HTML & CSS? Or you took our Intro to HTML/CSS, and learned a great foundation...now what? In this class, we'll be building a single-page website with all the new hotness: HTML5 for semantical structure and CSS3 for sweet visual flourishes like gradients, rounded corners, and drop shadows. The latest CSS specification provides advanced selectors, graphical enhancements, and better font support that make our sites more visually appealing without using font image replacement techniques, complex JavaScript, or graphics tools.

You'll get a thorough introduction to HTML5 and CSS3 to build on your previous knowledge. You'll get hands-on experience working with HTML5 features like semantic elements and forms, and you'll learn new CSS3 properties and abilities including transformations, transitions, and animation. Finally, we'll dig into responsive design and browser compatibility.

You'll leave with readily-applicable skills and we'll be there to answer any questions you may have along the way!

**It is highly recommended that you take our introductory course (or have previous experience with HTML & CSS) prior to taking this class. Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS are assumed.

INSTRUCTOR: Jon Spencer, WhiteLabel Collaborative, will be teaching this class.
