IMAGINE hack-a-thons to help solve Lake Erie water problems, with a chance for your business/technology idea to compete with other cities around Lake Erie to win cash prizes.

GlassHacks will be a 24 hour hackathon hosted at Maumee Valley Country Day School, open to high school students across the country.

Including volunteers, mentors, judges, sponsors, and students, we expect over 120 attendees.

The event is open to EVERYONE, regardless of prior experience! We expect skilled individuals as well as beginners with little to no experience. Our goal is to offer as many learning opportunities throughout the event as possible. This includes workshops, contests, and, of course, speakers. We'll provide nearly everything you could possibly need to have an incredible hacking experience. Expect great prizes, cool T-shirts, and lots more.

Hackathons are 24 to 36 hour events where teams of students (experienced AND beginner) work together to build cool projects in both software and hardware.

Come check out the Erie Hack Semi-finalists before they present at Erie Hack Detroit! Presenters will take the stage for 10 minutes each, 5 minutes to demo and 5 minutes to answer questions, followed by open announcements and community networking. This Meetup will be catered by Fusian, a new restaurant in Toledo.

PRESENTERS:

Fresh Water - an app to connect people to resources and information on Lake Erie.

Aquasci - a gamified citizen science app Open Erie - an effort to synthesize key Lake Erie data and improve key data accessibility for various target markets .

ACOsystem - a machine that proposes to harvest algae and process it for fuel.

ToledoHacks for the Arts is a high school hackathon in Toledo, Ohio. High school students who attend ToledoHacks are given 24 hours to think of a neat shortcut or solution to a problem, and bring it to life with code. In short, it's a life hack with technology.

There is no set goal that one must accomplish. Students can make anything from a metronome to a robot, as long as all the code for the project is made during the event

Local Hack Day at University of Toledo

Students (college and high school) are invited to join the University of Toledo ACM's Women in Computing student chapter at their first ever Local Hack Day (sponsored by Major League Hacking)!

MLH Local Hack Day - https://localhackday.mlh.io/ - is a 12 hour hack day taking place at the University of Toledo Brady Center that brings together the local hacker community to celebrate building awesome technology.

On December 2nd, students around the world will be simultaneously hosting their own MLH Local Hack Day at their school, resulting in the single largest day of student hacking ever.

What is a hackathon/hack day? A hackathon/hack day is best described as an “invention marathon”. Anyone who has an interest in technology attends a hackathon to learn, build & share their creations over the course of a weekend in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. You don’t have to be a programmer and you certainly don’t have to be majoring in Computer Science.

No programming/engineering experience necessary! Come to learn!

FREE FOOD THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE EVENT.

PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED AT THE END OF THE EVENT.

Open to all students from any university/college. Area high school students are also welcome to attend.

If you are a software developer, you may want to volunteer as a mentor.
