University of Toledo Launch Pad Incubation Program is calling local entrepreneurs to submit an innovative proposal for the second Pitch and Pour business pitch competition. Selected proposals will showcase their ideas from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, with presentations starting at 6 p.m.

Participants will network with world-class judges, business leaders, students, and potential investors as they enjoy beverages and hors d’oeuvres during the event held at the Tom and Elizabeth Brady Innovation Center, located inside the Nitschke Technology Commercialization Complex at the University of Toledo.

Pitch and Pour is a shark-tank style competition. Teams have five minutes and five slides to pitch their business concepts. Anyone can apply and selected teams will be able to pitch their submitted ideas for a chance to win cash and prizes. The four judges and one combined crowd vote from the guests will determine the winner.

The incubator is looking for entrepreneurs and students with business ideas in the early stage or pre-market entry. Pitch and Pour is designed to encourage local business development. As a major hub of entrepreneurial activity in the Northwest Ohio region, the incubator enables business networking, funding guidance, and business mentoring to grow employment sources.

The University of Toledo Launch Pad Incubation Program works to bolster innovation in Northwest Ohio by providing access to capital, resources, and expertise focused on enhancing community collaboration and communication for entrepreneurial development.

Entrepreneurs may now apply online for the chance to pitch their business at the second Pitch and Pour competition
