This month Northwest Ohio ISSA will be hosting a CTF (Capture the Flag) as part of its meeting. The CTF will include a variety of both offensive and defensive oriented challenges, trivia questions, and a variety of vulnerable systems for you to try to exploit. A brief session at the end will cover any flags that you want to learn more about or see how they were captured. We will also attempt to have some open source monitoring analyzing traffic, with a few monitors displayed to watch which attacks people are trying. To participate bring your own device (you should probably make sure to turn the firewall on as the network will most likely be hostile). We’ll have some USB sticks and DVDs with Kali, Parrot, and a few other random penetration testing or forensics analysis distributions that you can use in a Live boot capacity, or feel free to download and install your favorite distribution or toolset in advance! Feel free to bring your commercial tools if you like! The room that we have rented can fit up to 50 people, so please bring any friends that are willing to learn! Pizza, snacks, drinks, and more will be available for everyone! Come sit back and relax with us!
